The company GS1 Slovensko opened the first RFID laboratory in the Slovak Republic on 14^th November 2009.

RFID laboratory will:

• Be used to support competitiveness for more than 3300 members of the association, entrepreneurial subjects registered in Slovakia
• Be assigned to research, presentation and application of radio frequency identification for goods and services in supply and delivery chain by means of electronic product code EPC that is worldwide standard in this field
• Present all key standards of GS1: barcodes, e-Com, GDSN, automatic identification in Health care etc.
• Supervise the quality of GS1 barcodes, verification of the barcodes according to approved standards and regulations following to appraisal of quality of barcodes on finished products
• Cooperate with universities on solving the projects of research and development. Students and graduate students have technological base in the laboratory that can be used for their bachelor, diploma and dissertation works.
• Be also training centre for designers.

We are very pleased that our company KODYS Slovensko has significantly contributedto building the whole laboratory and has been the biggest supplier of RFID technology, hardware as well as the software components. We wish all the best to new laboratory and believe that it will significantly contribute to expand RFID application in Slovakia.
