Company KODYS SLOVENSKO has contributed to the introduction of electronic toll system in Slovakia.

From 1st January 2010 modern electronic tolling system for national and international truck transport has been introduced in the Slovak Republic. An important part of this system is represented by electronic technical devices called on-board units (OBU abbreviated from English On-Board-Unit), that allow clear identification and determination of the location of the vehicle via electronic tolling system. These units must be installed in any vehicle liable to the toll obligation when driving in defined sections of roads in Slovakia. Data obtained from on-board unit are being used to calculate the toll in electronic toll-collection system. Therefore it is extremely important for the whole complex system of distribution and usage of these units to operate reliably and correctly.

Company KODYS SLOVENSKO has participated in preparation and reliable implementation of this distribution system of the on-board units and it has also developed special communication interface, required reports and implemented a warehouse management system (WMS) for online monitoring of on-board units movements, distribution and storage.

Courier Company TNT provides distribution of on-board units for the operator of an electronic toll-collection system. It uses reliable Motorola mobile computers, Zebra printers and already mentioned unique software with WMS S-Mobile for managing warehouse operations during every day complicated distribution of large amounts of on-board units.

The functionality and reliability of the whole solution from company KODYS SLOVENSKO have been already verified during the first 3 months of deployment in real environment of everyday movement of hundreds of trucks – as well as on-board units - in the electronic toll-collection system.

Launching of such a countrywide project is always extremely difficult. Company KODYS SLOVENSKO has contributed to the functioning of this challenging system by timely and reliable sub-delivery and provided professional services; and thereby successfully completed the 15th year of its operation in the Slovak market.
