BCS Polska implemented a warehouse management system bcsTiger from the producer spring water and beverages, Economic Company BEWA LTD. The aim of the implementation was to improve warehouse processes and reduce their operation costs.
BEWA from many years specializing in the production of so-called own brands for retail chains. Majority of the production has been aimed at the biggest in Poland chain supermarkets, such as: Eurocash, JMD Biedronka, Kaufland, Auchan and Carrefour.
"The most important reason of the implementation was the need to improvement of logistic operations in warehouses, what would set in order all the processes of storage of finished products, and would help the management of external transport. Very important for our client was to ensure the tracking of goods, since the acceptance from the manufacture and supply the data necessary to warehouse management and business analysis." - said Robert ChajdaĆ, Account Manager of BCS Polska.
Implemented warehouse management system (WMS) bcsTiger was enhanced with transport management module and interface to integrate with ERP, SAP Business One. To service these applications uses Motorola's mobile terminals, Zebra Technologies label printers fixed and mobile, and the radio environment Spectrum24 from Motorola.
"The effects of the system could be seen almost immediately. Registration of production now takes place in real time. We have provided full traceability of goods since the adoption of the production, which gives instant access to data allowing withdrawals in a crisis situation. Has been shortened duration of the warehouse - issues and all the transport operations are recorded." - said Roman Siemieniuk, Head of Computer Science from the company BEWA.
The whole implementation efforts closed in six months. At that time, were analyzed with a pre-design solutions, implementation services, and optimization of radio network, as well as training of administrators and system users.
