Povazsky cukor Plc., sugar factory in Trencianska Tepla is the company dealing with production and expedition of sugar all over Europe, with more than 100 years tradition. It employs 175 employees. Every day it picks and packs several types of packaging divided into various volumes placed in different warehouse positions in its dispatch warehouse. Timeliness and accuracy of expedition is one of the essential requirements of customers. That was the reason why warehouse system and dispatch preparation was required to optimalize and make more transparent.

The company Povazsky cukor has decided to use the system of managed warehouse WMS Accellos implemented by the company KODYS SLOVENSKO Ltd. for complex solution concerning the automatization of processes of packaging and stock monitoring as well as dispatch preparation.

The system enables to create automatic administration of warehouse operation across all warehouse processes, starting with ordering goods from supplier and ending with dispatching to the customer. It is designed as an extension of existing ERP system.

There is installed automatic label applicator with embedded printer Zebra 170PAX together with gate consisting of powerful industry Accu-Sort scanners which are scanning the barcodes of distribution units or goods barcodes on conveyor, to make the ending phase of automatization and evidence of packaging processes much more effective and accurate.

The system enables identification of goods using barcodes in standard format SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code) while data is automatically imported into management system for further processing. Labeling of identification pallet label follows after packaging and palletization and mobile computer Motorola MC9090 is used for pallet storing to predefined stock location. As an application framework integrating bidirectional data flow between WMS Accellos, scanning gate, automatic applicator and MC9090 based on TCP/IP is used K-server software developed and supplied by KODYS SLOVENSKO Ltd.

Povazsky cukor daily picks huge amounts of big range of goods from its production all over the Slovak Republic as well as whole Europe. The priority in such amounts is transparency, optimalization of warehouse processes and traceability of products. These are core properties of managed warehouse solution called Accellos.
