Jens Munch Lund-Nielsen is head of Global Trade & Supply Chains at the IOTA Foundation. IOTA is a distributed ledger technology different to blockchain as it overcomes scalability issues and provide feeless transactions. The technology is open source and the Foundation is established as a non-for-profit organisation in Germany with the mandate to research and continuously develop the technology and the application of it. Jens brings 20 years of international experience working for established firms, consulting and NGOs. He has created partnerships in global trade and build new venture start-ups. Jens is an expert advisor on Trade and Distributed Ledger Technology supporting the UK Parliament, World Economic Forum and corporates. He has taken up positions in corporate strategy/business development/sustainability departments and as an intrapreneur and entrepreneur. Jens is also pioneer in building public-private partnerships to enable better trade for all, including co-founder of the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation, the Logistics Emergency Teams with World Food Programme, and others.
Haydn Jones has over 20 years’ commercial, operational and transformation experience working for retail and investment banks (UBS/Deutsche Bank), a central bank (the Bank of England), a regulator, (the Financial Services Authority), a global management consultancy firm (A. T. Kearney) and a Japanese technology company (Fujitsu). He brings depth in terms of operational knowledge, and breadth in terms of sector knowledge.
As to roles, Haydn has held senior operations and technology strategy roles. He has run Cash Management and Funding units, as well as FX and Equities settlement teams, alongside leading projects to re-engineer the underlying platforms. He has worked in architecturally complex, data rich environments, grappling with the challenge of reconciling legacy and leading edge technologies and transforming operating models. He has also consulted to a number of large, global logistics providers.
Operationally, he has run large, client sensitive platforms demanding high levels of availability. He has facilitated numerous technology and operational workshops, and presents regularly on digital, blockchain and digital currencies, most recently presentations to banks in Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Nigeria.
He is currently the Founder and Managing Director of Blockchain Hub, a specialist strategy consultancy working on leading edge technologies including digital and blockchain strategies. Haydn trained as an engineer at Manchester University (First Class), and was called to the English Bar by the Inner Temple. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, and Liveryman within the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.
Dave Clarke has spent the majority of his career working in supply chain management and logistics technology for Kuehne + Nagel Ag & Co. He has also held many senior positions within the company including Regional IT Director and IT Service Centre Director for Western Europe and Africa. His last role was in innovation management where he was responsible for developing new concepts and ideas for the company. Dave has an MBA from Strathclyde Business School.
